Beef Lettuce Wraps, Asian Style

This crunchy wrap has a spicy surprise that everyone will love!
2 Ontario greenhouse mini cucumbers, sliced in ½ lengthwise & diced
1 Ontario greenhouse sweet pepper, seeded & sliced thinly
1 Carrot, shredded
2 Green onions, sliced thinly
10-12 Leaves of lettuce (leaf, Romaine, Boston work best)
1 Lb ground beef
3 Cloves garlic, chopped
1 Tsp ginger, chopped
½ Tsp five spice powder
1/3 Cup Hoisin sauce
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp hot sauce
Lemon or lime wedges
Prepare your vegetables and set on a platter along with the lettuce leaves and wedges.
In a skillet, brown beef over medium high heat. Drain off fat. Add garlic, ginger, five spice powder and stir over heat for another minute or two. Add Hoisin, soy and hot sauces. Cook, stirring for another 3 minutes.
Transfer meat mixture into a serving bowl and place on platter.
Spoon ½ cup of beef mixture into a lettuce leaf and top with your favourites. Wrap the lettuce leaf up and enjoy.
