Premium Ontario Greenhouse Produce:  Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers (OGVG) is a not-for-profit organization representing more than 250 members who grow greenhouse tomato, cucumber and pepper crops in Ontario, Canada. Many specialty varieties are also produced, such as yellow cherry tomatoes, yellow & orange cluster tomatoes, yellow beefsteak tomatoes, Campari, Zebra and Amorosa cocktail tomatoes, mini cucumbers, and more.

What We Do:  The OGVG lobbies, and conducts research on behalf of the Ontario greenhouse growers. The OGVG also promotes greenhouse vegetables through various media and tradeshows.

Vegetable Production & Distribution:  Ontario leads all of North America in greenhouse vegetable production, with over 1740 acres devoted to tomatoes, cucumbers and sweet peppers.

All Ontario greenhouse vegetable growers, packers and marketers are required to go through a third party food safety certification process to ensure all of the required steps are taken to reduce food safety related risks. Our shippers are FDA registered and bonded ensuring on-time delivery of our fresh products with no unnecessary border delays or inspection problems.

Ontario Greenhouses:  Ontario greenhouse are located across Ontario, from Windsor to Niagara, and as far north as Ottawa. A large majority of our growers are located within Southwestern Ontario.

  • Southwestern Ontario's ideal growing conditions can be attributed to location:
            * Most southern point in Canada
            * Lies on the 42nd parallel (shared with Rome, Italy and                               northern California)
            * Essex County is further south than 13 US states
  • Essex County has the highest concentration of vegetable greenhouses in North America.
