Steak And Vegetable Stir Fry

 This is a tried and true recipe that will get your kids to eat their vegetables. 

3/4      Lb sirloin steak
1/2      Cup beef stock
1         Tbsp soy sauce
1         Tbsp ginger, minced
1         Clove garlic, minced
2         Tsp corn starch
1/2      Tsp Chinese five spice
2         Tbsp vegetable oil
2         Ontario greenhouse tomatoes, cut in wedges
1/2      Ontario greenhouse cucumber, diced
1 Cup   mushrooms, thinly sliced
1/2 Cup broccoli florets, blanched
1/2 Cup green onions, chopped

Thinly slice the steak, and set aside.

In a large bowl, combine beef stock, soy, ginger, garlic, corn starch and five spice. Mix well. Add steak and marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes. Drain and reserve marinade.

In a large skillet or wok, heat oil over medium heat. Add meat and stir fry 2-3 minutes until meat is no longer pink. Add tomatoes, cucumber, mushrooms, broccoli and green onion. Stir fry another 2-3 minutes.

Add marinade to the skillet/wok. Cook for another 1 minute or until thickened. Stir constantly.

Serve over cooked rice or noodles.
